Denee Jordan moved to the Quincy, IL. area to pursue a life-long dream of owning an historic home. Denee had founded and directed Plexus Dance Theatre for the previous 21 years and was thinking she would retire from the world of dance. Her 36 year international performance career has included both classical ballet and modern companies. Simultaneously, she has earned her doctorate in psychology and has specialized in the treatment of addiction and serious mental illnesses. After moving to Quincy, she became accutely aware of the absence of contemporary dance training and performance in the Western part of the state….hence, QDT.
She says, “After so many years watching performers trying to be the best, to be perfect, it has slowly occurred to me that the real value of performance is the quality of the relationship with the audience. This can be achieved in very simple, subtle, beautiful ways.”
